Data Scientist in Non Destructive Testing
• Involves the creation of algorithms and models to recognise, classify and size features using near field acoustic waves. • Acquisition, processing, analysis and preparation of structured and unstructured acoustic data from inline inspection tools. • Created a tool to simulate and mitigate acoustic cross talk. • Created algorithms to quickly and automatically extract and classify acoustic data reducing manual effort by a factor of 10. • Plan and execute experimental measurements to understand acoustic phenomenon for the development of new in-line inspection techniques. • Collaborate with Quality, Operations, Analysis, Software and Mechanical teams to identify and resolve potential issues. • Involved as an Acoustics specialist in the development of Machine learning models. • Developing a Phased Array based in-line inspection tool.
2016 - 2019
cea commissariat lnergie atomique et aux nergies alternatives
PhD in Acoustic Physics
Ultrasonic guided wave simulation and defect localisation and imaging • Created an acoustic simulation tool to simulate acoustic guided wave propagation in tubular structures. • Tool reduces computation times by a factor of 15-20 and is to be implemented in an industrial acoustic simulation software (CIVA). • Developed an experimental test rig to validate the simulation tool. • Helped develop and implement a mathematical model to simulate acoustic emissive sources. • Implemented an imaging algorithm in the context of wave propagation and acoustic emissions to identify and localize simulated and real defects using concepts from SHM and NDT.
2015 - 2015
dlr and tu braunschweig
Acoustic resonance based de-icing - Master thesis
De-icing using low frequency Acoustic resonance • Research on the proof of concept of de-icing aerospace structures (metallic and carbon fibre) using low frequency acoustic resonance. • Performed modal and frequency response simulations on ANSYS to understand the behaviour of the ice-structure interface. • Utilized a specialized wind tunnel to "ice" surfaces and to perform de-icing tests. • Created a manual for the electro-mechanical multi-physics module of ANSYS to implement Piezo-actuators using APDL command snippets.
2014 - 2014
safran engineering services india
Aeroelasticity - Internship
• Performed a Validation study of the Fluid Structure Interaction capabilities of LS-DYNA using the Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics module. • Involved a qualitative study of the concepts of Aeroelasticity and the SPH module of LS-DYNA to simulate various Aeroelastic responses.
2014 - 2014
airbus
Structural Design project - ISAE and Airbus
• Designed a detailed cross-section of a fuselage based on the Airbus A320. • Performed structural dynamics, fatigue, damage tolerance, buckling, cost and weight analysis.
2013 - 2013
aeronautical development agency
Aerodynamic optimization - Bachelor thesis
• Performed aerodynamic analysis, validation and optimization of air flow through the RAE M2129 S-duct air-intake for various Mach numbers. • Used CATIA to model the duct, ANSYS ICEM CFD for model discretization and VISP3D (An in-house solver) for simulation.
2012 - 2012
genser aerospace it pvt ltd
Structural design - Internship
• Preliminary Structural design of the VLJ-3X1. • Performed stress calculations and dimensioning of the Frames, Longerons and Bulkheads of the fuselage and the Spar design of the wing.
2011 - 2012
manipal institute of technology
University UAV Design - Team lead Structures
• Team lead of the Structures Sub-system of the University’s Unmanned Aerial Vehicle design team which took part in the SAE Aero Design competition at California. • Designed and validate the Structural framework of the UAV by numerical simulations, calculations and experiments in collaboration with Aerodynamic, Propulsion and Flight dynamics teams. • Involved in the manufacturing and assembly of the UAV.
