I interned with Amazon India Development Center, Chennai, when I was pursuing my B.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering at NIT Warangal. The project I worked on was about adding features to a Career Management Portal which was a Web Application and the technologies used were Ruby on Rails with Amazon DynamoDB as a NoSQL Database. Career Management Portal was used by internal employees to manage their career preferences and goals. When an employee updates a record in portal, previous record used to be overwritten. There was no provision to retrieve old records. The problem statement was to suggest a History maintenance mechanism, so that an employee or his management team can see his old records too. Also, there was no notification mechanism to notify an employee's top hierarchy about the career preference changes. This was an extension to the original problem statement.
