Engineering Manager - Payments
- A very unique challenge. Was given the task to stabilise issues in BookMyShow's payments and transaction system. From having no prior experience on .Net systems to suddenly managing multiple squads and being the tribe owner for the entire transactional journey for a customer at BookMyShow - from blocking a seat at the cinema, applying offers, payment gateways and refunds. - Immense learning curve and fortunate to have received such an opportunity and come out of it successfully. - Truly started learning the real meaning of leadership - especially working sideways.

- Responsible for BookMyShow's desktop website, mobile website and mobile app architecture. On the web front, planned and drove execution of a 18 month long migration project to a micro front-end architecture to solve for rapid scale and deployment blockers amongst teams which contributed to operational delays and developer dissatisfaction. - Had my weekly dose of firefighting when debugging critical production issues which squads weren't able to resolve. - Implemented observability patterns to improve system stability and application performance. - Worked heavily on increasing team collaboration & community building via regular internal Tech talks & regular internal blog posts to share and consume learnings. - Set up on-boarding and data driven hiring processes across all SDE levels. - Unofficial responsibilities included driving execution of company wide projects and extremely time critical projects, UX design for internal tools, cleaning up tech debt and fixing issues in systems that had no owners.
