# Interview scheduling policy

Applies to every candidate interview, all reqs. Last reviewed May 2026.

1. **The hiring manager is required on every candidate interview.** Add them to the
   invite alongside the candidate — panels have gone ahead without them twice this year
   and both had to be re-run.
2. Interviews are 45 minutes unless the req says otherwise.
3. Never schedule a candidate interview on top of an existing commitment. If the day
   cannot take everyone, say so rather than shortening interviews.
