Abdulsamod Balogun is a Communications, Marketing, and Growth Manager with a passion for growing people, businesses, and scaling impact in Africa. With over six years of experience leading growth, content marketing, strategy, and communications for B2B and B2C brands across various industries, including financial services, fintech, edtech, talenttech, development, fashion, entertainment, consulting, and venture capital, he has helped brands and businesses accelerate growth and exceed business KPIs using thorough research, tailored strategy, thoughtful ideation, storytelling, martech tools, and analytics via organic and paid channels. Abdulsamod is certified in product marketing and growth marketing by the Product Marketing Alliance UK and CXL Institute US, respectively. He was one of 60 given a full scholarship (worth ~$40,000) into NUTM’s postgraduate program in technology and management, one of 5 Agora Fellows trained globally in communications by Young Voices UK, and one of 20 pioneer Writing Fellows for African Liberty. He also holds certifications in management communication, digital marketing, and social media analytics from Harvard Business Publishing, Google, and e-Marketing Institute. In his current role as Co-founder & Growth Lead at Smartpharm Health, Abdulsamod leads growth and marketing focused on democratizing access to medications. He has also worked as Communications and Marketing Lead at Vestedworld, where he led content marketing across social and email, raising followership by 115%, engagement by over 1100%, and unique visitors by over 70% on LinkedIn, and optimized newsletter for a 42% open rate. He also joined Laconia's global educational program and inclusive community, Venture Cooperative, as a Venture Fellow, doing a deep dive into Laconia's investments, processes, and learnings over the years. Abdulsamod has a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Biochemistry from the University of Ilorin and is currently pursuing a Postgraduate Certificate (PGCert) in Technology, Entrepreneurship, and Design from the Nigerian University of Technology and Management.
