Adil Zafar is a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer with over 7 years of experience in the field. Currently, he is working at LinkedIn in the DARWIN team under core engineering. In this role, Adil is responsible for developing and implementing cutting-edge software solutions that enable LinkedIn to stay ahead of the competition. Before joining LinkedIn, Adil served as a tech lead in InMobi's Customer Data Platform team. This experience allowed him to gain valuable insights into various aspects of a large-scale data platform, including ingestion, compliance, cost optimization, data replication, serving, segmentation, and lookalike modeling. Adil began his career at Goldman Sachs, where he built machine learning pipelines and models in the problem areas of anomaly detection and time series forecasting. These models replaced rule-based monitoring in the production environment, reducing mean time to resolve (MTTR) and cost. He also built data pipelines for offline and real-time processing of data using the Hadoop Big Data Stack. As a student at the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur, Adil co-founded the Kharagpur Data Analytics Group, which aims to provide students with the opportunity to solve industrial problem statements in data science, natural language processing, and mathematical modeling. This initiative made it the first of its kind student research group in India. Adil has a combined Bachelor's and Master's degree in Electrical Engineering with a Master's in Instrumentation Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur. He also attended Don Bosco Academy, Patna, and St. Michaels High School, Patna. Adil has a diverse tech stack that includes software engineering, big data, ML, Hadoop, Kafka, deep learning, image segmentation, NLP, data science, research science, neural networks, mobile, senior software engineering, Python, Java, Spark, HDFS, CNN, Kubernetes, Spring, Azure, and Apache Hive.
