Aiman Abdullah Anees is a skilled Software Engineer 2 at Skyscanner with a passion for large-scale design, scalability, and backend engineering. With over 4 years of relevant experience, Aiman is an expert in AWS, ML, microservices, search, Kubernetes, Cassandra, Golang, Elastic Search, Kafka, React Native, Docker, and MySQL. In his current role at Skyscanner, Aiman is part of the Search Tribe and is currently working on the Machine Learning Platform. He is committed to delivering high-quality work and is always looking for ways to improve his skills and knowledge. Before joining Skyscanner, Aiman worked as a Software Engineer at Wahed, an ethically-focused digital investment platform covering 130 countries with over 200,000 clients globally. He was part of the Core Backend Team and was involved in building microservices that supported the Wahed App. He also built AskWahed, a WhatsApp Bot that could answer user queries, and worked on integrating Plaid in the Wahed App to support payments for UK and US users. Prior to Wahed, Aiman worked at Visa as a Software Engineer, where he was part of Open VisaNet and was involved in transforming monolith architecture to microservices architecture. He built the Data Access Layer for microservices and used Golang, Aerospike, Cassandra, Docker, Kubernetes, and MySQL. Aiman holds a Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology from the National Institute of Technology Karnataka and completed his High School education at Gems Education.
