Ajith Sowndararajan is an accomplished product designer, researcher, and strategist with over a decade of experience in B2B and B2C platforms. He is currently the Associate Director of Product Design and UX Research at Flipkart, where he is humanizing commerce for India. Prior to this, he worked as a Manager of UX Design and Research at Freshworks and a Senior UX Consultant at Human Factors International. Ajith is passionate about making technology accessible and functional for SME business users across the world. He has extensive experience in designing multiple products ground up and expertise in building scalable design organizations. He has worked with existing setups to institutionalize UX across the organization. In short, he helps design function better an organization. Ajith is an expert in the end-to-end user-centered design process and helps in customizing it for organizational needs. He is also skilled in design communication, ensuring that design, dev, and business functions are on the same page. Ajith has extensive experience in research environments and has been part of the core teams that create and conceptualize new products and services, including VR (Virtual reality), AR (Augmented reality), and Machine learning models. Ajith holds an MS in Computer Science and Application (Human Computer Interaction) from Virginia Tech and a BE in Computer Science and Engineering from Anna University. He has also completed High School from PS Sr Sec School and The Hindu Sr Sec School, Adyar, Chennai, India. Ajith has received various awards and published his works in several top conferences, including ACM SIGGRAPH and MIT Journal. In addition to his professional achievements, Ajith is also a tinkerer at heart and loves to experiment with new technologies. He is proficient in various tech stacks, including Research Scientist, Product Designer, Product Manager, ML, Designer, and Mobile.
