Last week, our CEO and Founder, James Uffindell , joined other entrepreneurs at Downing Street to take part in important discussions about skills in the UK, organised by the team at Goldman Sachs . The growth roundtable brought together key voices in the space to discuss the vital role of skills in driving UK productivity and growth and was a brilliant opportunity to share ideas on how to better equip the future workforce. A key concept they discussed was a ‘National Enterprise & Employability Programme’ - a proposal to embed a few hours of enterprise and employability education into the curriculum for students aged 14-16. The need for such an initiative is clear when: 📊 55% of small businesses report they can’t find the talent they need. 📊 Only 12% of small business leaders feel the education system equips young people for the future of work. 📊 89% believe enterprise skills should be part of the core curriculum. Embedding these skills into secondary education could transform the UK's future workforce. At Bright Network, we know the importance of empowering young people with the right skills to succeed and it was fantastic for James to be able to contribute to this critical conversation.
