Akshesh Doshi is a highly skilled Software Engineer with a passion for big data and engineering data pipelines. He is currently working as a Software Engineer - Data Infrastructure Platform at Quora, where he is responsible for building operations for the big data platform, spanning over ~100 PBs of data, based on Hadoop and its ecosystem including Hive, Spark, Impala, Oozie & SparkSQL. With over 7 years of relevant experience in the tech industry, Akshesh has also worked as a Senior Data Engineer at Agoda and an Associate Data Engineer at Innoplexus. At Innoplexus, he benchmarked ArangoDB and ported a product's (big) data to an ArangoDB cluster, removing dependency on MongoDB, Neo4j, and ElasticSearch. He also authored a few patent-pending technologies in ETL and data analytics domains. Akshesh is proficient in Python, a few web frameworks/technologies, and databases, including Postgres, ArangoDB, MongoDB, MySQL. He has also worked on computer vision and machine learning projects. Currently, he is getting his hands dirty with Kafka, Spark, Elasticsearch, and other distributed system architectures, including the Hadoop tech stack (+Spark & Hive). In addition to his technical skills, Akshesh is an open-source contributor and public speaker. He is enthusiastic about building things that bring a smile to billions of users. He also writes on Medium and shares his knowledge and experience with others. Akshesh holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee. He is a dedicated and hardworking individual who is always looking for new challenges and opportunities to grow and learn.
