Graduate Teaching Assistant
I was a part of UCSB's 5 year program in Computer Science, which let me obtain both my Bachelors and Masters degrees in Computer Science in 5 years. During the year I was in graduate school, I was selected to become a teaching assistant for two courses - Introduction to Computer Science, and Foundations of Computer Science - as well as a grader for a second quarter of Foundations of Computer Science. • Sparked introductory students’ passions for computer science. • Ran a laboratory section for students to obtain valuable hands-on experience with new programming concepts. • Evaluated homework and exams and gave out final grades. • Held office hours to ensure that students had through knowledge of topics.

paypal
Software Engineering Intern
After my previous summer, I received an offer from PayPal to return as a graduate intern, with more responsibilities. I joined in the middle of the split from eBay, and was able to integrate myself with the codebase within the first week despite the hectic environment caused from the split. • Completed a data quality verification tool ahead of schedule, which monitors data from various points in PayPal’s application flow and to provide more comprehensive logs about system attacks. • Developed back-end RESTful APIs to query PayPal’s extensive production database tables and manage potentially problematic data points. • Current creating a new application to monitor loss from pressure points within the PayPal application flow.

cielo24
Development Intern
During my last year as an undergraduate, I wanted to challenge myself to become a better developer. I joined cielo24's development team during the school year and successfully balanced work and finishing my Bachelor's degree. • Created an API key application that lets users access their accounts using a unique key instead of a password. • Fixed critical bugs in production code that made processes more efficient. • Attracted more clients by helping the business unit develop functional demos.
2014 - 2014
paypal
Software Intern
I was a software intern within the Risk team at PayPal. Over the course of the summer, I familiarized myself with PHP, and ended up creating a monitoring application that displayed metrics on risk data, which was rolled out and used by PayPal developers before I concluded my internship. The application allowed developers to keep tabs on various aspects of PayPal's performance, allowing them to investigate potential problems in real time. In order to make my application more useful, I included existing risk monitoring applications, making their interfaces more intuitive and user-friendly. Towards the end of the internship, I was helping multiple developers learn how to use the application and set it up for their personal needs. In addition, I also participated in PayPal's intern hackathon, Iron Hacker 2014. Here, I worked with four other interns to develop an android application that enabled one-touch payments between phone users, using Venmo and NFC chips within Android phones.
2013 - 2013
workday
Application Development Intern
At Workday, I worked in a team of six interns on two projects - we remade the interface for an existing web servce to submit requisitions, and we created a completely new integration web service within the Workday suite, which was a travel expense system for employees. These applications were developed using Workday's own proprietary development language, which every intern on my team had to learn as we worked.
2012 - 2012
micro business solutions
Independent Project
- Extracted business data items from IBM ISAM files, without being given structural information or data dictionary. - Used UNIX tools (hexdump, split, etc.) to analyze binary data of ISAM files. - Crafted a C program that extracted records from the ISAM data files, and converted them to CSV format. The resultant CSV files were delivered in MS Excel to MBS for business analysis.
