Amara Datta Sachidananda is an experienced software engineer with over 5 years of relevant experience in the information technology and services industry. With a Master of Science (MSCSE) focused in Computer Systems Engineering from the University of Houston, Amara has demonstrated expertise in Python/Django and MySQL. Currently working as a Software Engineer I at Equinox, Amara is responsible for building end-to-end Python services using the Sanic framework. Amara has also played a key role in migrating from an old monolithic design (.net) to a microservices design (Python/Sanic), thereby contributing to infrastructure resource optimization. In the past, Amara has worked as a Software Engineer at Infospectrum Inc. and Ingenuity Insights. At Infospectrum Inc., Amara connected a Python/Django service to a legacy MySQL database using Django ORM to generate business reports and reduce overhead. Amara also built an automated email notification system, backed by a cron job, to inform customers about inactive GPS devices. Additionally, Amara architected a bridge service that exposed APIs to customers in their desired format. The service queried the internal API and converted the XML into the customer’s required structure. The converted XML was then picked up by a cron job and pushed to the customer’s web service at regular intervals. At Ingenuity Insights, Amara worked on the end-to-end implementation of a user-facing health dashboard using MEAN Stack. Amara also established best practices for responsive front-end design (using Angular and Bootstrap) and a git workflow for the team.
