Anand Zutshi is a Software Development Manager 2 at Amazon with a passion for AI and NLP. With a strong foundation in mathematics and programming, Anand's early successes in chess ingrained the beauty of patterns and possibilities. He went on to attend one of the top colleges in India for his undergraduate degree, where he was the director of the Algorithm Society, mentoring underprivileged students and delivering lectures on advanced topics. After college, Amazon selected Anand for a summer internship and later a software developer role, recognizing his programming skills. Interacting with diverse teams and achieving results in tight timelines improved his management skills, and he eventually transitioned into a successful management position. During his software development role, he learned about how systems operate at scale, safely launch versioning, and design services with a long-term vision. Through multiple research and data science internships at IBM and other startups, Anand gained rich experience in different domains of AI. His work detecting disfluencies in real-time speech samples heeds a special mention, where he developed a deep CNN, bi-directional LSTM model. During the trying times of COVID, Anand went ahead to detect misinformation from social media and presented the findings at AAAI’21 welcoming applause. With multiple papers published in reputed journals and conferences, he has honed his analytical skills and research acumen. As a manager and leader at Amazon, Anand leads a strong team to develop complex programs in the payments domain. Honing his skills, Anand is currently enrolled in Georgia Tech’s Master’s in Computer Science program in addition to pursuing an Artificial Intelligence diploma from the University of Texas-Austin. Anand's long-term goal is to build creative solutions for social good as an accomplished AI professional with extensive experience in NLP/ML. Anand is open to collaboration for projects in the field of NLP and AI. With over 3.77 years of relevant experience, he is a skilled Software Engineer, AI, NLP, Research Scientist, CNN, ML, and Data Scientist.
