Ankit Goyal is a seasoned Founder, Engineer, and Mentor with over 8 years of relevant experience in the technology industry. Currently, he is serving as an Entrepreneur in Residence at 8vc, where he is responsible for identifying and investing in early-stage startups. Ankit's expertise lies in building and scaling AI-powered products, and he has a proven track record of success in this field. He was the Founder & CTO of Sirona Medical, where he hired and managed a team of 20 engineers, product managers, and designers. He raised ~$20M from 8VC, GFC, and others and built AI-powered diagnostic workflows for radiologists. He implemented an in-browser server-side rendering engine to render radiology scans in real-time and developed a real-time text-to-speech engine pre-trained with a comprehensive radiology lexicon. Ankit also architected data ingestion pipelines to ingest, de-identify, index, and sequester terabytes of radiology image & text data. He built an end-to-end AI pipeline to facilitate model training, deployment, and FDA submission process and led integration efforts to integrate into legacy RIS/PACS/EHR systems via DICOM & HL7 protocols. Ankit executed HIPAA and SOC 2 (Type I and Type II) compliance efforts. Before Sirona Medical, Ankit was the Founding Engineer at Kofa, which was later acquired by Facebook. He built a point and click self-analytics platform to empower non-technical business analysts. Ankit led frontend development from React & Redux architecture to testing and Django API design. He architected a validation and error handling framework to throw errors based on user heuristics and inferred structured schemas. Ankit built a two-dimensional data lineage graph to handle extensible data branching and merging (supports thousands of operations) and created visualizations on top of Spark ML to make algorithms more accessible to business analysts and product managers. Ankit holds a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University and attended Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology.
