Badal Rooprai is a highly skilled and experienced software engineer with a passion for building and designing scalable applications from scratch. With almost 8 years of relevant experience, he has developed highly available, low latency, and high throughput applications using microservice architecture. He is a strong believer in test-driven development and fail-fast design thinking, which has helped him in building robust and reliable applications. Currently working as SDE-2 at Hotstar, Badal is responsible for developing a content platform capable of serving millions of concurrent users. He has built everything from scratch for India's largest OTT platform and manages the whole infrastructure using Kubernetes with Docker and Terraform. Prior to this, he worked as SDE-1 at Hotstar and Senior Software Engineer at Magicbricks, where he gained valuable experience in software engineering. Badal has a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Computer Science from Netaji Subhas Institute of Technology. He has a strong technical background and is proficient in various technologies such as Java, JavaScript, MySQL, Cassandra, Kafka, Spring, Search, Mobile, Backend, and more.
