Bassam Ismail is a highly skilled Principal Software Engineer with over 9 years of experience in building solutions that have impacted millions of users. He has a strong focus on Frontend technologies, but also has experience with Drupal, Go, and AWS Services to solve various challenges. Currently, he is a Fractional Director of Engineering at Axelerant, where he leads and mentors a team of highly skilled developers. In his current role, Bassam is responsible for leading a team of 35+ Frontend developers across Recruitment, Delivery, and Growth. He introduces and oversees initiatives to consistently grow team skills and works with clients to measure and align delivery goals. He also works with other engineering domains, sales, and marketing to meet business demands, driving programs and mentoring team members to inculcate service values. Prior to his current role, Bassam was the Director of Engineering (Front-end services) at Axelerant, where he led large teams across multiple projects. He coordinated with various stakeholders to deliver scalable solutions, ran agile ceremonies on various projects, reviewed PRs across multiple projects, and introduced tools and practices to improve CI pipeline and testing practices across the organization. Bassam holds a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology from the University of Kashmir. He also attended Burn Hall School from 2001 to 2010. He is a Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) and Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD). He is also OpenJS and Acquia Certified. Bassam's tech stack includes Senior Software Engineer, Software Engineer, Frontend, Javascript, AWS, and ReactJS.
