Chetan Sharma is a seasoned and passionate software engineer with over seven years of experience in different aspects of product engineering, including frontend, backend, deployments, CI/CD, and scaling production systems. He is currently working as a Senior Backend Engineer at Lemonade, where he is responsible for driving product enhancements from elicitation of ideas to implementation and testing. Chetan is proficient in the leadership aspects of product and engineering, including scrum planning, product refinement, architecture review, hiring, and supporting the platform as per customer’s expectations. Chetan is a learner on the cloud journey and an AWS certified developer. He believes in doing the micro-service and stateless way of engineering and constantly looks forward to engineering software and systems that take advantage of these principles. He loves developing because being a software engineer is one of the professions that will continue to change our lives in dramatic ways. His biggest strengths in this area are his ability to go deep into the problem statement, pay attention to details, and critically question the problem set as well as the solution before diving into implementation. Chetan is proficient in working with technologies at all levels of the stack, including backend APIs such as Nodejs and Typescript, tools like Docker and Git, databases like MongoDb, Mongoose, Waterline, Gulp, Redis, PostgreSql, frontend technologies like Angular, Backbone, Marionette, Electron, Webpack, testing tools like Mocha, Jasmine, Chai, CI/CD pipelines, and monitoring tools like Graylog/Cloudwatch. He has first-hand experience of handling production environments, scaling issues, logging, monitoring, responding to priority issues, request times, etc. Chetan has worked with notable companies such as Verifone (formerly Dimebox) and Atlan, where he led the development of products used by thousands of users and saw the scale of millions of requests. At Verifone, his responsibility was to work on the enhancement and maintenance of e-commerce transaction gateway (backend) and portal (frontend). At Atlan, he led the backend engineering for “Collect” - an application for mobile data collection. He oversaw the development of queue systems for handling data processing requests of millions of records and optimized the mongodb cluster system of read replicas and backups for various read and write requirements.
