Dharmayu Purohit is an accomplished Director of Engineering at WESCO Distribution, with over 15 years of experience in the industry. He is a highly skilled engineer, visual thinker, and passionate builder who promotes decoupling, minimalism, and operational excellence in technology. Dharmayu is an experienced Solution Architect who focuses on innovative ways to achieve and deliver SaaS, PaaS, and federated technology platforms and applications. At WESCO Distribution, Dharmayu is responsible for building a differentiating and value-driven engineering and operations product ecosystem to support SaaS, PaaS, and federated workloads. He has introduced an app-aware IaC innovation that empowers developers and makes deployment a business decision. He has also implemented shift-left and robust DevSecOps that supports a spectrum of architecture patterns and is capable of launching new business models swiftly. Dharmayu is committed to making engineering and operations accessible and readily visible to top-down org structures. Prior to joining WESCO Distribution, Dharmayu worked as a Solutions Architect at Amazon, where he was a trusted technology advisor to customers in their cloud journey. He helped ISVs for platform modernization, SaaSification, and multi-tenancy architectures. Dharmayu also guided customers for migration strategies, containerization, and analytics architectures. He is particularly interested in minimalism in technology implementation and architectural governance. Dharmayu's previous role was as a Manager of Innovation Delivery at McDermott International, where he was responsible for platform engineering and delivery of data and IoT-based digital products for operational efficiency, workforce productivity, and EPCI project schedule predictability. He led the digital innovation CoE and was primarily responsible for executing McDermott's digital innovation strategy. Dharmayu engineered and built the platform for real-time analytics and predictive maintenance for a catalyst factory with hybrid infrastructure (on-premises and Microsoft Azure). He also built a team of full-stack developers, DevOps engineers, data engineers, data scientists, UI/UX designers, and QA and SA professionals.
