About
Dhaval Shah is a highly skilled Software Engineer with over 15 years of relevant experience in designing, developing, and maintaining software components for products and product lines. He is currently working as a Senior Member Of Technical Staff at VMware, where he is responsible for developing and maintaining the Software Defined Data Center (SDDC) Day0, Day1, Day2 flows. He has introduced Odata query interfaces via integrations with Apache Olingo, enabling filtered, paged, and aggregated SDDC activity information. Dhaval also overlooks CI/CD pipelines and weekly deployment of critical microservices, driving engineering features through design, implementation, testing, deployment, and support. He is a valuable asset in timely analysis, troubleshooting, and resolution of customer escalations. Dhaval is also mentoring new members to the team, enabling them to understand the product better. In the past, Dhaval has worked as a Member Of Technical Staff IV at Netskope, where he designed and implemented scalable and highly available Netskope services for Microsoft Teams. He developed a cluster of listeners/receivers that receive high volume notification traffic from Microsoft Teams about chat and attachments, which are routed using Kafka and Redis to create tasks to be processed by different POPs. He also developed microservices that separately pull user, group, team, and channel information, and services that decrypt content received, create and maintain webhook subscription to Teams. Dhaval has also worked as a Principal Member Technical Staff at Oracle, where he redesigned legacy O365 application code into a modular, pluggable, distributed, and scalable application, resulting in a near 4x performance boost. He fixed issues in CASB O365 and Azure application in areas such as Ingestion, SmartConfigs, DLP, Policies, and Alerts. Dhaval also helped in defining several new smart controls for O365 applications that detect weak settings in O365, such as strong password not enabled, mails sent to external domains. He developed a multi-tenant, scalable native hook to support PowerShell execution in O365 CASB application, using JNI in combination with C++/CLI to give a robust, long-running programming interface to call PowerShell. He added automation using Mockit/TestNG/Junit to verify several test cases in CASB O365 app. Dhaval's tech stack includes Java, Microservices, Azure, CI/CD, Redis, Kafka, Python, AWS, Elastic Search, and Search. He is a highly motivated individual
