Dhruv Pancholi is a Tech Lead at Google with a passion for solving problems using technology to make a significant impact on millions of people's lives. With over 7 years of relevant experience, he is currently a Senior Software Engineer at Google Ads, where he is responsible for developing and maintaining the platform. Dhruv has previously worked at Google as a Software Engineer, where he was part of the Assistant NBU and worked on creating a gamification campaign platform for Assistant users. He also led a community-driven effort to educate new internet users about different Assistant journeys and rewarding educators based on engagement metrics. Dhruv was also a part of the Android Go team, where he unified the Assistant tech stack on Android Go and reduced the startup latency by more than 50% through optimized rendering, staged object initialization, and network optimizations. Before joining Google, Dhruv worked at Flipkart as a Software Development Engineer II, where he was part of the Search Relevance team. He worked on revamping the AutoSuggest experience by creating a new client-side API and design for uniform experience across all clients, leading to an increase in Search-CTR by 129 bps and AutoSuggest usage by 727 bps. Dhruv also rewrote the complete AutoSuggest service using a service-oriented architecture, reducing the cluster size to less than half and reducing the 75th% latency to 50th%. Dhruv holds an Engineer's degree from the Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar, majoring in Chemical Engineering with a minor in Computer Science. He also completed his high school education from M.T. Jariwala High School, where he studied Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
