Dinesh Damodharan is a highly experienced Director of Software Engineering at PayPal, with over 16 years of experience in leading teams in the design and architecture of world-class, scalable, and customizable full-stack applications and platforms for product solutions. He is a problem solver who is never afraid to take on a challenge, find solutions within available resources and constraints, and get things done. Dinesh has a proven track record of executing large cross-functional projects that successfully impacted the enterprise, including serving as engineering lead to launch GDPR changes for PayPal, working with 150+ teams across the enterprise. He also led full-stack engineering organizations to solve business KPIs, e.g., developing and launching the shopping product and experience for PayPal's 450M customers from scratch as part of the mobile app redesign. Dinesh is passionate about creating products that will add value to a person's life at a global scale. He is hands-on with engineering when required and is always looking to positively impact the people in his team or organization. Currently, Dinesh is the Director of Software Engineering at PayPal, where he is the principal technical strategist and visionary charged with leading a multifaceted team in building, enhancing, and scaling top-tier product solutions, including Invest and PayPal Shopping. He led the platform vision, strategy, and roadmap for Invest, where he built an organization from 0 to 70+ staff across NA, SA, and India. He also originated the shopping organization from scratch and grew it to 150 contractors, managers, and engineers across North America, South America, and India, creating an organizational structure to build and sustain the product. Dinesh has a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Sathyabama Institute of Science and Technology and completed his high school education at The Indian School. His technical skills include integration, mobile, web, infra, and software engineering.
