Divya Kannan is a Lead Python Engineer at Pypestream with over 9 years of relevant experience in the field of Data Science and Advanced Analytics. She has a Master's Degree in Computer Science from Clemson University and a Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Software Engineering from Saurashtra University. Additionally, she holds a Machine Learning Engineer Nanodegree from Udacity. Divya is an expert in database management and SQL querying, having assessed legacy database systems and revamped schemas for streamlining processes. Her day-to-day work involves coding in Python for data cleaning and manipulation using NumPy and Pandas. She has built predictive models for structured and unstructured datasets using supervised, unsupervised, and deep learning methodologies. Divya is also familiar with Plot.ly/Dash and Tableau for data visualization. At Pypestream, Divya is working on building solutions for various processes across different teams in Aviation. She uses her skills in Data Science and Advanced Analytics to increase process efficiency and reduce manual error. She has also worked on projects housed on AWS architecture using services such as S3, EC2, Athena, and Postgres RDS. Prior to joining Pypestream, Divya worked as a Senior Python Engineer at the same company and as a Senior Data Scientist at ICF. At ICF, she worked on a number of projects, including redesigning ~20 years of historical data and migrating the database to AWS cloud platform as part of the automating Aircraft's spare parts pricing process. She has also worked on spatial data (~700MM location data-points for each airport in PostGIS), analyzing customer travel route, helping airports provide better customer experience while addressing leakage to competing airports. Divya has also provided data science training to junior analysts and associates across Aviation (Americas and EMEA) and led multiple initiatives that promote collaboration and tech-enabled deliverables.
