Gaurav Gahlot is a highly skilled Software Engineer with over 4.87 years of experience in the industry. He is currently working as a Software Engineer 2 at Microsoft, where he is involved in developing cutting-edge software solutions. Prior to this, he has worked with renowned companies such as Informatica, Dell, and American Express. Gaurav is an aspiring Data Scientist and has a keen interest in data mining. During his M.Tech at NIT Karnataka, he developed a passion for this field, which eventually led him to publish research papers in the area of Data Mining. He enjoys working with data and extracting valuable insights from it. At American Express, Gaurav worked on writing Map-Reduce codes for different score reports of customers. He scaled the decile and distribution reports for millions of customers and worked with the scoring platform for easy code executions by business analysts. He used Java and Apache Oozie for this. At Dell EMC, Gaurav was part of the team catering to storage management applications. He initially worked on Peer Storage Systems, where he developed the alert mechanism in the desktop application on signals from the PS hardware. Later, he took on the responsibility of handling the web application part of hardware management of storage units. He used Java and Typescript for this. At Informatica, Gaurav worked on developing a handy desktop quick look version of the data governance tool. The tool was meant to get insights into company glossaries at ease. He then shifted to the Data Governance web app, where he used Gremlin and wrote REST APIs for deducing the relations among various company glossaries. Apart from his professional work, Gaurav loves swimming and is an avid swimmer. He has a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Jaipur Engineering College & Research Center, an M.Tech in Information Technology from NIT, and a Post Graduate Diploma in Data Science from IIIT Bangalore.
