Gaurav Thalpati is an experienced Consultant, Trainer, and Mentor in Cloud Data Management and Architecture. With over 17 years of experience in various data projects across technologies like ETL, DWH, BI, Big Data, and Cloud, he helps customers implement data migration and data modernization projects using Cloud Data Services. Gaurav has worked across various platforms and domains since 2004 and played various roles such as ETL Developer, Data Analyst, Technical Lead, Data Architect, Hadoop Admin, and Cloud Data Architect. He is also involved in training and mentoring aspiring data architects and data engineers, having conducted several trainings across technologies like AWS, Snowflake, Data Architectures, Informatica, Data stage, Unix, and Data Modeling. Gaurav's past experience includes working as a Cloud Data Architect at Blazeclan and Senior Manager at Cognizant, where he handled technical and functional discussions with the business, analysts, application architects, and program managers. He created technical feasibility documents and high-level design documents, reviewed Source to Target mapping documents, data models, and test cases for requirement coverage. He provided Big Data solutions for complementing existing traditional EDW with Hadoop-based Data Lake and evaluated and recommended right tools and technology choices across applications and platforms. He also presented the design to the governance councils and justified the solution for seeking approvals and participated in design forums for discussions and debates with architects from MDM, Data Governance, Data Security, and providing inputs for overall data strategy. Gaurav holds a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) degree in Electrical, Electronics, and Communications Engineering from Savitribai Phule Pune University. He also attended S M Choksey and Ornellas High School, Pune. His technical skills include Senior Software Engineer, ETL, Big Data, AWS, Hadoop, Snowflake, Data Engineering, designer, and test.
