Gautam B is an experienced technology leader with over 11 years of relevant experience in building, managing, growing and retaining high performing engineering teams. He is currently serving as an Investor at salesgear, where he heads Data, Engineering and Product. Gautam has a proven track record of building and scaling various systems for better performance and availability, and has built various natural language processing systems. As the Co-Founder and CTO of Adapt.io, Gautam bootstrapped the startup and increased its revenue from $0 to $1.2 million in just six years. At Adapt.io, he managed 4 billion data points of 3 TBs of data on updating and extracting every month, and engineered end-to-end automation from data collection, normalizing and standardizing, performing periodic data quality checks and ensuring the data quality is maintained. Gautam also managed multiple engineering squads, comprising 15+ members and built, scaled, revamped, and optimized various systems for better performance and availability. He built various crawlers and scrapers for different use cases to crawl contact, company and technology without violating privacy. Gautam was able to crack a few libraries and protocols which Google and Microsoft built, and improved multiple data sync systems from days to a few hours and minutes with distributed computing. He also built various regression models for predicting company size, company revenue, and company's industry and sub-industry, and improved the response time of multiple systems from seconds to sub-millisecond latency. Gautam has a proven record in indexing more than 4 million indexed pages in a short span of time. Before joining salesgear, Gautam worked at Owler as a Member of Technical Staff. Owler was acquired in 2021 by Meltwater. At Owler, Gautam built various scalable crawlers to gather company and social information, worked on various natural language processing problems, and developed Owler's Android and iOS applications. He also had end-to-end ownership of public-facing enterprise APIs, re-architected and revamped "Solr Indexer", and reduced the indexing time from 17 hours to 1.5 hours. Gautam acted as Scrum Master and Team Lead, and acted as Platform Engineer and solved critical and research product problems. Gautam holds a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) in Computer Science and Engineering from Amrita University. He has strong engineering background with skills in ML, NLP, AI, Distributed Systems, High availability, Software Design, System
