Grishma Jena is a Data Scientist with a passion for infusing data science in user research and design. She is currently working as a Data Scientist in Insights and Enablement at IBM, where she supports a team of 80+ user researchers as the only Data Scientist. Her role involves identifying where product users are struggling within SaaS product experiences and making recommendations to improve their user experience across IBM Software using Machine Learning and Big Data Analytics. Grishma has also developed the architecture and infrastructure for an insights library for product teams to make data-driven decisions. Grishma is a highly accomplished professional and has been recognized for her technical accomplishments, innovation, invention, and/or reuse with a tangible benefit to IBM. She has been awarded the Outstanding Technical Achievement Award (Major) in 2021, Breakthrough Leader in 2021, and Trailblazer Award in 2020. Grishma has also volunteered as the co-leader for the Silicon Valley Technical Vitality Council at IBM. Grishma has a Master’s Degree in Computer and Information Sciences, General from the University of Pennsylvania, and a B.Tech in Computer Science Engineering from Symbiosis Institute of Technology, Symbiosis International University, Pune. She has also completed a semester abroad in Computer Engineering from Nanyang Technological University. Grishma believes in exposing children early on to the world of Computer Science and encouraging women in technology. Grishma is a Research Scientist, Data Scientist, and Machine Learning and Natural Language Processing expert. She is proficient in Python, SQL, Spark, and has experience as a Senior Software Engineer working with Big Data and infrastructure. Grishma is also a public speaker and conducts workshops for Python, Natural Language Processing, Data Science, and related fields.
