Jason Brownlee, Ph.D. is a software engineer and research scientist with a background in artificial intelligence and high-performance computing. He is the Founding Writer of SuperFastPython.com, a community that helps Python developers bring modern concurrency techniques to their projects. With over 300+ tutorials, complete guides, API cheat sheets, jump-start books, and interview questions, Jason helps Python developers learn hands-on tutorials and clear code examples. Before founding SuperFastPython.com, Jason was the Founding Researcher of MachineLearningMastery.com, a community that offers training to make developers awesome at applied machine learning. He authored over 1,000 technical tutorials and 20+ technical books on machine learning, including "Optimization for Machine Learning," "Ensemble Learning Algorithms With Python," and "Data Preparation for Machine Learning." In his past experience, Jason was a Senior Software Engineer at the Bureau of Meteorology, where he developed and supported tropical cyclone forecasting systems used by severe weather meteorologists in Australia and the South Pacific for analysis and warnings. He was responsible for the ongoing development and maintenance of desktop software used by severe weather forecasters for forecasting tropical cyclones on Linux with Swing/Java/Oracle. He was also responsible for the operationalization, maintenance, and verification of the server-side ensemble model to forecast the probability of wind above wind speed thresholds in FORTRAN/Java/BASH. Jason has a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in Artificial Intelligence from Swinburne University of Technology, where he also earned a Master's degree in Artificial Intelligence and a Bachelor's degree in Applied Science (Computing). He also completed a course in Introduction to Psychology and received an Advanced Diploma and Diploma in Information Technology from RMIT University. Jason graduated from Mullauna Secondary College with a Victorian Certificate of Education in High School.
