Joe Rach is an accomplished and highly skilled cybersecurity practitioner, leader, team builder, and problem solver with over 24 years of relevant experience. He holds several certifications, including CISSP-ISSAP, CRISC, GCFA, and OSCE. His areas of specialization include embedded systems, infrastructure, and web/mobile application security assessment, as well as digital forensics, malware analysis, and investigations. Joe is an innovative and entrepreneurial cybersecurity engineer who is well-known for his rapid exploit development and zero-day bug discovery in IoT. He is also an expert in red-team automation, malware simulation, and cybersecurity toolsmithing. Joe is committed to delivering exceptional quality at a competitive value and advocating for responsible disclosure, team-based approaches, and promoting knowledge-transferable/shared/open-source based methodologies. Joe is currently working as a Principal Product Cybersecurity Engineer in a confidential company. In his previous role as a Product Security Officer/Consultant, he worked on multiple ground-breaking projects involving hardware, software, radio, and cloud technology stacks. He was responsible for firmware (re)engineering, security engineering, security operations support, and actively hunting bugs and threats as part of global red teams. Joe is also an adjunct instructor at the New Jersey Institute of Technology, where he delivers an assortment of technology courses in a synchronous, virtual classroom environment.
