Kannan Parthasarathy is a highly experienced Senior Platform Engineer with a career spanning over 23 years. He is currently the Co-Founder and CTO at MontyCloud, where he is leading the engineering of an intelligent cloud management platform. Kannan is an expert in Analytics and Big Data and has designed and implemented data pipelines for Xinova and Atlas Informatics, two of his past companies. At Xinova, Kannan was one of the three founding members of the engineering team and played a key role in architecting Xinova's new platform. He successfully moved the company's workflows from a 10-year-old legacy system to a microservices-based highly scalable and performant system in under 6 months. During this time, he simplified the system from millions of lines of code to ~70k lines while improving performance and scalability. Kannan also designed and implemented key platform infrastructures like event bus and pubsub libraries. At Atlas Informatics, Kannan built the data pipeline in the platform and enabled experimentation, DevOps, and machine learning for the platform. He also built part of the search experience that helped users to group their data based on activity type. Kannan owned the analytics and user insights pipeline and built the social aspect of the product, boards. Apart from being a platform engineer, Kannan also built an integrated Mac experience for the product. This feature exposed Atlas's search capability from users' Mac Spotlight interface. Kannan holds a BE degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Bharathidasan University and Shanmugha Arts, Science, Technology and Research Academy.
