Karthik Kalyanasundaram is a Senior Director of Product Management at Freshworks, where he is currently focused on building intelligent, intuitive, and right-sized ITSM, ESM, and project management products. With over 17 years of relevant experience, Karthik is an experienced product manager who is capable of conceptualizing, owning, executing product roadmaps, and leading or scaling product teams. Karthik has worked with various product companies such as Freshworks, Oracle, Model N, and mysmartprice.com, where he gained hands-on experience in end-to-end product development lifecycle starting from idea/design stage till implementation and go-to-market. Before starting his own venture in B2B SaaS space, he was employed as Director of Product Management with Freshworks, where he co-owned Freshdesk's product strategy, roadmap, and execution. As a founder of Productyogi, Karthik is currently building a SaaS product specifically targeted for small and medium-sized software product companies to manage, collaborate, and report on end-end product development activities starting from requirements stage to post-shipping and support/maintenance stage. His work is primarily influenced by asynchronous work communication, no meeting, no interruption, and no notification-driven working, pomodoro, deep work, deep hours instead of man-days, game mechanics@ work/ making work a team sport, inspiration-driven instead of deadline-driven work, and the power of "why" a.k.a shared purpose and goal. Karthik has a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) (Hons) in Mechanical Engineering from BITS and a Higher Secondary in Science from Rotary Matriculation, Sivakasi. His tech stack includes product management, and he has relevant experience of 17.78 years. Karthik is an exceptional product manager who can lead and mentor experienced product managers while co-owning overall product strategy, roadmap, and execution.
