Karthik Prabhakar is a highly accomplished Venture Capitalist with extensive experience in the Indian tech ecosystem. As the ex-Managing Director and Partner at Chiratae Ventures, he has played a key role in supporting several tech start-ups and building the start-up ecosystem in India. Karthik has been recognized as one of the 40 Under 40 in the alternative investments space in India by AAAIF and has been recognized amongst the global top 100 Rising Stars in the venture industry by Global Corporate Venturing, held in California, US for three consecutive years from 2016 to 2018. At Chiratae, Karthik has led worldwide efforts on fundraising and business development apart from investments, divestments, and org building. His investments for Chiratae include Blowhorn, Buystars, EarlySalary, Exly, GoodMeetings, Living Consumer, LetsVenture, Manthan Systems, Nestaway, Newgen, PlayShifu, PlaySimple, and Tamasha.live. Karthik has experience spanning engineering, product development, marketing, fundraising, investment advisory, and fund management. Prior to Chiratae, he worked with Intel in their Ideas to Reality team, a technology incubator focused on building IoT products around the Intel Atom processor. Karthik holds a PGDM from Indian Institute of Management Bangalore and a Bachelor of Engineering in Information Science from RVCE, Bangalore. He has co-authored a patent in the area of Wireless Networks and has worked on developing innovative IoT/embedded solutions.
