Karthik Srinivasan is a Tech Evangelist with a passion for adopting future technology intuitively. He is a DevOps Engineer and Linux Trainer with experience in providing offshore support for 24/7 remote support. Karthik began his career as a System Engineer at CGI and has since advanced to DevOps Engineer, automating routine tasks of IT hierarchy. He has experience troubleshooting day-to-day incidents via monitoring and closing tickets using BMC Remedy tool. Karthik has a strong background in problem diagnosing and troubleshooting of Unix/Linux Servers, monitoring & troubleshooting with performance-related issues of an Application, user management & administration, and server build. Karthik is skilled in security such as SSH, SCP, sudo, networking such as NFS, DNS, DHCP, Port forwarding using Iptables, and troubleshooting such as tcpdump, sar, top, iostat, telnet, ftp, SSH, netstat, etc. He has good OS troubleshooting skills and volume management and OS storage management: Linux LVM. Karthik has experience in NIC configuration live virtual IP and bonding on servers, backup agent installation: Netbackup, creating MOP (Method of Procedure), raising RFC’s according to the necessary changes required, taking approvals from the AO’s, swap/memory space management, job scheduling and automating process using CRON, and ticket assessment on a daily basis. Karthik has experience in categorizing all incidents and alerts and preparing knowledge articles following ITIL best practices, monitoring application logs, and root's email for important messages such as errors and warnings. He is skilled in managing disk, file systems, server performance, users creation and granting file access permissions, creation of groups, adding User ID to a group as a primary or secondary group, removing User ID from a group, and troubleshooting with start/stop of daemons/Services. Karthik has L1 & L2 knowledge of RHEL Linux, AIX, Sun Solaris, and HP UX. He has working knowledge on VMWare vSphere and basic knowledge of HP Tandem. Karthik is a blogger and has experience in software installation such as Netbackup, Filebeat, Auditbeat, Metricbeat, ELK stack, Dynatrace, and UD Agent.
