Ku Chang is a seasoned Advisory Software Engineer at IBM with over 20 years of relevant experience in the field of enterprise software development. He has successfully designed and built IBM Enterprise Content Management (ECM) software, which enables clients to efficiently manage documents and save time and money. Ku's focus areas are architectural design and implementation of enterprise software using Java technologies. He has also worked closely with product management/QA teams to analyze client requirements and define test plans. Prior to IBM, Ku has worked as a Senior Software Engineer at Veritone, Inc., where he was involved in building a leading cognitive processing framework to democratize Artificial Intelligence. He used technologies such as Golang, AWS, Docker, Redis, and Kafka to achieve this goal. He has also worked as a Senior Golang Engineer at Verys, where he performed software development work for a large gaming company. Ku re-architected and migrated Python backend system to Golang microservices, and he was the lead developer for Xbox platform integration. He designed and implemented microservices in Golang, using REST and RabbitMQ, which significantly reduced hardware requirements compared to the old Python-based system. He also migrated the application deployment framework from Vagrant to Kubernetes/Docker and created Helm templates to automate the Kubernetes deployment process. He utilized Tilt tool for Kubernetes local continuous development and deployment. Ku holds an MS in Computer Science from the University of Southern California and a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Computer Science from the University of Utah.
