Kumar Ahir is a design leader at CISCO, with over 15 years of relevant experience in the field of design, technology, and business. He is an AR/VR evangelist and a sketchnoter, always envisioning and creating something new and exciting. Kumar is passionate about immersive technologies and design, and he actively conducts workshops on design thinking, design for AR/VR, and prototyping for mixed reality technologies. He aims to create a better design ecosystem for immersive technologies. Kumar is also the co-founder of OoBI, a new media company that pioneered solutions for immersive customer experiences in the real estate industry. Later, OoBI got acquired by NewsCorp, Accel, SAIF backed company PropTiger. At OoBI, Kumar served as the Head of Design and Technology, where he focused on leveraging innovative technologies to create mobile, immersive, and interactive experiences. His team also designed and developed the 4dview experience, an interactive experience to view and make property buying decisions. Before OoBI, Kumar worked with CISCO, Symantec, TCS, and briefly with Microsoft as a project intern. He has expertise in design strategy and leadership, user experience, interaction design, MR, VR, AR, software development, business development, programming, scripting, and product management. Kumar's tech stack includes product manager, UI, designer, mobile, and software engineer. Currently, Kumar is responsible for the design of different aspects of CX Cloud, one of the most sought-after products of CISCO Customer Experience. His team's current focus is on the UX of Insights and Analytics (I&A), which is based on usage and telemetry data generated from the Cisco portfolio. Kumar collaborates with peer design leaders, senior product management, and engineering to engage on product/domain direction and key design decisions. He closely works with leadership and team to set organization goals, create team assignments, and effectively engage team members to achieve goals. Kumar provides leadership and guidance to the design team spanning interaction designers, visual designers, UI prototypers, and user researchers, as well as college interns. Kumar holds a Master's degree in Design from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering from Gujarat University.
