qualtrics
Senior NetDevOps Engineer
As a NetDevOps engineer, I help Qualtrics automate their networking infrastructure using DevOps CICD pipelines. I work heavily with Python, Ansible, Jenkins, Docker and Terraform to achieve this. NetDevOps allows our networking team to keep up with fast-paced infrastructure changes and to deploy infrastructure as quickly as our developers deploy code! Some of my projects I've worked on are: • Use Ansible to automate backing up of switch, DNS and DHCP configs. Also used for automation of VLAN changes and configuration management/validation. • Use Terraform and Ansible to deploy DR networks in AWS using their VPC networks • Dockerized internal tools and deployed via Nomad to allow HA of critical monitoring and configuration applications • Work on a CICD pipeline for configuration changes to firewalls, loadbalancers, DNS services and all routing and switching.
2017 - 2018

Global IT Manager
• Manage Qualtrics global IT team and support 2500 employees in a very fast-paced growth environment • Ran global IT team for Qualtrics. Supported 15 offices both domestically and internationally for 2000+ employees. • Handled corporate server and network infrastructure, including new office buildouts. • Oversaw international corporate IT purchasing with a $5 million yearly budget. • Migrated IT team to a self-service architecture, implementing technologies like self-service IT vending machines. Resulted in a 40% reduction in IT tickets per employee. • Trained multiple IT employees in networking, Linux and overall infrastructure design to help them to move to more technical positions within Qualtrics. • Moved IT internal architecture to Docker. • Handled backups of multiple departments in AWS S3 and Glacier.

qualtrics
Site Reliability Engineer
As a SRE, I helped Qualtrics grow our infrastructure from a single-homed traditional LAMP stack to a multi-site, automated, microservice-oriented infrastructure. While I worked in all aspects of automation, I specialized heavily in building our network infrastructure, both on the corporate and production side. • Dockerized network automation internal tooling. Deployed to production via Nomad • Built a front-end dashboard in Python to automate the use of 16 F5 BIG-IP LTM machines, presented on this topic at the Utah F5 User’s Group. • Deployed and administered the networking of ten AWS datacenters. • Managed network of five physical colocation datacenters and seven offices worldwide, including LAN and WAN connectivity and DNS and DHCP services. • Automated deployment of AWS VPCs, VPC SME for SRE team. • Configure and install a layer 3 to-the-edge network for Qualtrics’ Provo network. Network consists of over 100 layer 3 switches using OSPF. • Worked on moving to a scalable, automated network both in the offices and prod.
