Lawrence Guintu is a skilled software engineer currently working at Google as part of their Engineering Residency Program. With over four years of relevant experience, Lawrence has a strong background in mobile and web development, as well as UI design and testing. His interest in programming began in middle school, where he wrote scripts for mini games on Gaia Online and Neopets. Since then, Lawrence has expanded his skills and worked with a variety of programming languages and frameworks. Outside of work, Lawrence enjoys playing badminton, traveling, socializing, and trying new foods, especially milk tea. He recently placed second in the SJSU badminton tournament, earning his first trophy. Prior to joining Google, Lawrence worked as a software engineering intern at Clinicomp, Intl. and Waterfall, where he gained experience in JavaScript, React, Java, JUnit, and Selenium WebDriver. At Clinicomp, he refactored a portion of the company's web application to improve error finding and UI/UX. At Waterfall, he created automated regression tests using Java and Selenium WebDriver, saving over three days of manual testing. He also worked on a side project that pushed Git comments to referenced LiquidPlanner tasks, requiring the use of bash and Git hooks. Lawrence holds a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from the University of California, where he graduated in 2017. He also attended James Logan High School, where he completed his high school education in 2012. Lawrence's tech stack includes iOS, JavaScript, mobile and web development, UI design, Selenium, and Java. He is a senior software engineer with a focus on testing and improving code production and quality.
