With over 11 years of relevant experience, Lennart leads the engineering teams that build services to simplify job execution and scheduling for data and machine learning. He is also responsible for raising the bar on engineering and security practices at Databricks, notably founding and leading the cross-org security champions team. Prior to joining Databricks, Lennart served as a Staff Software Engineer at Databricks and a Principal Engineer at Amazon. At Amazon, Lennart provided technical and strategic leadership for the AWS Cloud9 organization, a cloud-based development environment that lets you write, run, and debug your code with just a browser. He led the core Cloud9 engineering teams and contributed to the development of various AWS services, including AWS CloudShell, AWS Lambda, and AWS Robomaker. Lennart holds a PhD in Computer Science, Software Language Tooling from Delft University of Technology and a Bachelor/Master of Science in Computer Science from Utrecht University.
