Mayank Vanani is a highly skilled Data Scientist with a passion for Statistics and Machine Learning. He currently works at Reliance Industries Limited, where he is responsible for statistical modelling and building linear and non-linear models for domains like Operations Research and Manufacturing Process. Mayank has a good amount of professional experience that has exposed him to various problems, which he has been able to counter by deploying state-of-the-art ML algorithms and DL models. Mayank holds a Bachelor's degree in Instrumentation and Control Engineering from Nirma University, where he finished his research thesis on the topic of "self-driving cars in a semi-urban environment." He has successfully published a research paper in IJCST. Through self-learning initiatives, Mayank has developed strong fundamentals in mathematics and analytics, which aids in his data modelling capabilities. At Reliance Industries, Mayank has worked on several projects, including impurity detection in Styrene Butadiene Rubber Bales, where he designed a metric - 'Consumer Satisfaction Index' for benchmarking the quality of production at SBR plant. He also scrapped images of impure bales from archived emails, automated the annotation process, and developed a CNN model (an adaptation of ResNet) to detect impurities present in the rubber bales and subsequently take it out of the production line for recycling. Mayank has also worked on fuel efficiency optimization using boiler parameters, where he retrieved 15 years of data from the central database using NoSQL and PostgreSQL. He developed a Martingale-based Time Series Model to classify manual intervention in auto running model of the plant and modelled a controller for Fuel-Inject Valve as a function of 8 boiler parameters. He minimized annual expenditure on fuel worth 6.8 million INR. Mayank is proficient in several technologies, including Research Scientist, Data Scientist, ResNet, ML, CNN, Deep Learning, NoSQL, Python, and Microservices. He is currently pursuing a Master of Science in MS from the Georgia Institute of Technology, which he is expected to complete in 2023.
