Meher Afroz is a performance-driven technology leader with over 20 years of experience in all aspects of technology, including social, mobile, analytics (BI & Big Data), cloud, and package implementation (Oracle/SAP). As a Partner Engineering Manager, Core Platform Engineering at Microsoft, Meher has developed a reputation for deep knowledge of technology, strategic thinking, and a proven track record for managing scale, taking an idea from vision to implementation, and driving complex change. Meher's current role as Chief of Staff for Strategic Enterprise Services IT at Microsoft involves leading strategic business initiatives and driving product and operational excellence, agility, and customer focus for a multi-discipline organization with an annual budget of $250M and 1500+ staff. Her responsibilities encompass strategy, investment, portfolio planning, business operations, budgets, operational excellence, and change management. In addition to her current role, Meher has held key leadership positions with Microsoft and General Electric India Centers in packaged and customer software development. At Microsoft IT India, she played a key role in the success of the largest operation of Microsoft outside of the US, collaborating with constituents globally and consistently delivering on commitments. At General Electric's Center of Excellence India, she developed and executed the strategy of India 2 India (I2I) outsourcing model and implemented Oracle Apps in record time, with some being cited as case studies of rapid deployment. Meher is a collaborative leader who inspires and leads teams to peak performance, pushes the envelope to stay on the leading edge of the technology landscape, and champions programs that promote diversity and inclusion. She also developed the strategy for a leading publishing company that evolved into a startup company where she serves as an advisor. Meher holds a Post Graduate Program in Management from ISB, EIMP (Experienced Information Management Program) from GE Crotonville, and a B.Tech in Computer Science & Technology from Bihar Institute of Technology, Sindri.
