Mengyu Zhang is an experienced Engineering Manager with a passion for delivering delightful user experiences. Currently employed at Venmo, Mengyu is leading the team in re-imagining venmo.com. With a relevant experience of 9.70 years, Mengyu has worked with some of the biggest names in the industry, including Microsoft. During her time at Microsoft, Mengyu served as a Staff Software Engineer and Tech Lead, working on Azure Cosmos DB and Azure HDInsight. She was responsible for creating the Azure Databricks portal extension from the ground up to ensure Databricks onboarding to Azure on time. Additionally, Mengyu was the owner of the Azure HDInsight portal extension, where she designed and developed the metrics experience, investigated and improved the creation success rate, and refactored the portal extension code to improve reliability and performance. She also automated UI functional and integration tests. Mengyu's expertise extends to Azure Cosmos DB, where she improved and consolidated the monitoring pipeline, designed and implemented the analysis pipeline utilizing Hadoop (Hive and Pig), and architected, designed, and implemented core functionalities using knockout.js and React.js. She also designed and delivered high-quality features, including document explorer, script explorer, one-click quick start, IP filtering, and service metrics. Her work increased customer adoption rates. Mengyu holds a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Computer Science from Georgia Tech Lorraine and Georgia Institute of Technology. She also attended Qingdao No.2 High School.
