Mohammad Waris is a passionate software engineer with four years of experience across backend, DevOps, and data engineering. He enjoys designing systems end-to-end and has owned and scaled microservices. Currently, he is working as a Data Engineer at Simpl. In his previous role as a Software Engineer - DevOps at Classplus, Waris maintained microservices in production, deployed new and existing services to staging and production, created a service to autoconfigure Nginx, and reduced cost across MongoDB & Kubernetes clusters. As a Software Engineer - Backend at Classplus, he built, deployed & maintained a soft real-time infrastructure handling millions of messages daily, mentored/helped engineers, introduced event-based autoscaling & workload separation on Kubernetes across services, created a billing dashboard to monitor infrastructure costs across all projects and services, and contributed to multiple backend systems using NodeJs, Mysql, MongoDB & Redis. He also did AWS to GCP migration, architected a centralized notification microservice, implemented Sharding in MongoDB to scale reads/writes horizontally, migrated workload from EC2 VMs to EKS, and introduced ELK stack to improve logging and monitoring. Waris holds a Bachelor of Technology in Computer Science from Galgotia University.
