Naman Udasi is a software engineer with over 4 years of relevant experience in the field. He has a dual degree in B.E. Computer Science and M.Sc in Mathematics from Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani. Currently, he is working as a software developer in Dremio's execution team, responsible for managing all things related to query execution, from getting data to the source to implementing various SQL operators like Scan, Join, etc. Naman is very interested in learning and working on problems related to distributed systems, especially distributed databases and query engines. He has worked on several projects, including adding support for reading deltalake datasets in Dremio's distributed query execution engine and working on a solution that rewrites the dataset's metadata into iceberg format to remove the scale restriction of the engine and allow it to run queries on datasets with unlimited size. Prior to his current role, Naman worked as a member of the technical staff in Qubole's EAM team, responsible for managing various tools like Airflow, Sqoop, etc. He also worked on several projects, including developing an application that ran an open-source spark profiling tool called Sparklens, minor improvements on the scheduler tier, and integrating a feature called Notification channel with the scheduler. Naman's tech stack includes Software Engineering, Apache Airflow, SQL, Spark, Integration, CI/CD, ETL, Java, AWS, Kubernetes, Docker, Research Scientist, and Web. He is a BITS Pilani alumnus and completed his high school education from St. Xavier's School, Jaipur. Overall, Naman is a highly skilled software engineer with a keen interest in distributed systems and a track record of delivering successful projects.
