Narayanan Subramaniam is a technology leader with over 28 years of experience in datacenter infrastructure, SaaS, IoT, electric vehicles, networking, and telecommunications. He has a sound strategic vision and hands-on product definition, architecture, and development skills, with the ability to build people, their careers, and well-knit teams. As a senior member of IEEE, Narayanan focuses on mentoring students and early-to-mid-career professionals on product/engineering excellence and ethics. He is a passionate advocate for sustainable product development in line with the UN Sustainable Development Goals needed to mitigate climate change. Currently, Narayanan serves as the Chief Technology Officer at Eugenie.ai, where he leverages AI-based solutions to enable humanity to "Thrive Sustainably" in the face of the accelerating climate crisis. His mission includes developing technologies for carbon emissions reduction and end-to-end product/process efficiencies across the energy, manufacturing, and mining industries. Previously, Narayanan has held leadership positions at Nutanix, Sun Mobility, Cisco, DELL, and Infinera, where he was at the heart of many key technology developments, innovations, and disruptions. At Nutanix, he was responsible for driving the evolution and key innovations around their Distributed Hybrid Cloud Manageability Solution (Prism). At Sun Mobility, he drove the design and development of the world's first Unified Software IoT Edge Compute Platform and Cloud Telemetry Infrastructure for Li-Ion Battery based Electric Vehicle Swapping and Charging Stations. At Cisco, Narayanan was the principal engineer responsible for the Hybrid Cloud Serviceability, Troubleshooting, and Debug platform for the next generation Webex Teams. At DELL, he was part of the team that led the development of the iDRAC Embedded Data Center Multi-Function Server Controller for DELL PowerEdge Servers, an industry first in dynamic data center automation. At Infinera, Narayanan was the engineering lead for the distributed Management Plane for Infinera's industry-leading photonic chip-based DWDM Optical Switches for metro/long-haul Internet communications. Narayanan holds an MS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Maryland and a BTech in Electronics & Communications Engineering from IIT.
