Narendra Ramanna is a highly experienced Software Engineer with over 23 years of relevant experience in the communication domain, specifically in computer networks. He is currently working at Arista Networks as a Software Engineer, where he is responsible for software system architecture, implementation, and quality aspects of products. Narendra has expertise in creating carrier-class products for communication networks from "ground up" and has worked on diverse areas, from product conceptualization to realization. Narendra has extensive experience as a senior technical lead and has mentored team members as well as non-performers. He has worked extensively on bare-metal routers, switches, and IP-DSLAM products that are deployed in the networks of well-known ISPs, data centers, as well as tactical networks. Narendra has also worked with network virtualization. Narendra's expertise lies in software system architecture and design and implementation of highly scalable frameworks. He has worked on both control plane and data plane (ASICs, Network Processors) and has worked on various protocols in almost all the layers of TCP/IP suite. Narendra has designed and implemented various technical areas from "ground up," including extensive experience in design and implementation with parallel programming models (POSIX threads) and event-driven architecture, ACL, and QoS, support for multiple logical routers, framework for management of routes from multiple sources, support for load-balanced ECMP routes, distributed management of transport ports, distributed forwarding plane management, switch fabric management, configuration management sub-system, code generation, and compilation environment. Narendra has a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from B.M.S College of Engineering. He is proficient in parallel programming (POSIX threads) as well as event-driven architectures.
