Nate Ebel is a highly accomplished Staff Software Engineer and Android Team Lead with over 9 years of relevant experience. He is also a Google Developer Expert and an Educational Content Creator. Nate is passionate about building great software and helping others do the same. He speaks, blogs, and maintains a YouTube channel all towards the goal of helping others learn and develop in their careers. Nate is a firm believer in cultivating a growth mindset in himself and others, in hope that they can effect positive change in the world. He is a self-motivated individual who understands the importance of continued self-education. Nate loves being in the world of mobile development because the rate of change requires continuous growth and shorter product lifecycles allow him to quickly deliver useful products directly into the hands of users. Nate has a passion for technology, education, and software development and enjoys opportunities to combine the three. Before starting his masters program, he picked up a book on Android development and learned enough to release his first app on Google Play. During his graduate work, he performed research in evolutionary robotics using Android smartphones to evolve robotic controllers for autonomous, mobile robots. Nate's past experience includes working as a Senior Android Engineer at Premise Data and as a LinkedIn Learning Instructor, where he created professionally produced video courses on mobile development topics. He holds a Master's Degree in Computer Science from the University of Idaho, as well as an Android Nanodegree from Udacity and an Advanced Android Development certification from Big Nerd Ranch. Nate also completed an Android Bootcamp at Big Nerd Ranch and holds a Bachelor of Science in Geographic Information Science and Cartography from the University of Idaho.
