Nishchal Dethe is a highly skilled machine learning engineer with over 4 years of experience in applying machine learning methods to solve complex problems across various domains. He is currently working as an Applied Machine Learning Engineer at Sybill, a company that is building an emotionally aware video call partner, leveraging body language understanding and AI to help sales teams understand their prospects better, accelerate revenue, and improve themselves and their collateral. In his role, Nishchal has built machine learning models to understand and extract multimodal behavioral cues and collaterals from participant audio and video streams. He has also worked with customer stakeholders to provide bespoke insights into their sales collaterals and target personas apart from the company's SaaS offering. Nishchal has played a multi-faceted role within the team involving strategy, product, marketing, and UI/UX design. He has designed the framework and built Sybill Inc’s ML stack from scratch. Prior to this, Nishchal was a founding engineer (1st FT employee) at Sybill, where he worked on developing a scalable neuronal identification software for International Brain Laboratory - a consortium of 22 neuroscience labs distributed around the world. In his role, he designed and built complex software systems that empowered the consortium of international labs to understand the human brain better. Nishchal also developed a generative model for training attention-based deep learning models for sparse encoding and event detection. He systematically designed, trained, debugged, and evaluated models for both unsupervised and unsupervised tasks. Nishchal also developed a decentralized motion inference algorithm for identifying sensor movement within the brain incorporating image registration and optimal transport theory. He designed a visual dashboard for post-process evaluation of performance on key metrics. Nishchal has a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Applied Mathematics from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) degree in Aerospace, Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur. He also holds a Certificate of Professional Achievement in Applied Mathematics from Columbia University. Nishchal has a strong technical skill set that includes ML, Research Scientist, Tensorflow, AI, Scikit, Python, Pytorch, designer, UI, Decentralized, Deep Learning, CNN, RNN, and GAN.
