Nisheed Meethal is a seasoned software engineering leader with nearly 20 years of experience in the industry. He is currently serving as the Manager of Software Engineering at LinkedIn, where he is responsible for leading system software development in a large-scale distributed production environment. Nisheed has a proven track record of building highly scalable and distributed firewall management systems, fully automated server provisioning and reimaging systems, and MFA infrastructure setups and integrations. In addition to his expertise in systems software engineering, Nisheed is also a skilled site reliability and team building leader. He has led a high-performance team of Site Reliability Engineering and DevOps professionals for technical excellence and site-up with 99.95% of uptime for a fast-growing SaaS product with over 2.5 million subscriptions. Nisheed is an advocate of extensive automation, eradicating manual changes in production. He has extensive experience in threat modeling for production SaaS applications, lead TLS 1.0/1.1 deprecation for a QuickBooks Online application, and partnered with cloud architects in designing secrets management for QuickBooks Online as part of cloud (AWS) enablement in 2016. Nisheed has previously worked as a Staff Engineer at Intuit, where he focused on DevOps, security, automation, config management, and tools, and as a Sr. Linux Engineer L4 at Technicolor DreamWorks Animation, where he was responsible for digital operations. He holds a Master of Technology in Computing Systems & Infrastructure from Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani. Nisheed's technical expertise includes SRE, DevOps, AWS, integration, Python, software engineering, infra, and Puppet. He is a security evangelist and point of contact for a business unit, managing 0-day vulnerability fix rollouts across the organization. Nisheed has also led information security and software hygiene efforts, deploying Osquery and integrating Tableau for threat analysis and vulnerability dashboard.
