Nishit Salot is a graduate student pursuing a Masters in Information Systems at the University of Maryland, College Park. With a passion for working in the tech industry, Nishit has previously worked in data-oriented work environments and is fascinated by the depth of data being created on a daily basis. Currently, he is working as a Business Intelligence Developer at microexcel, where he supports and works with ETL developers to complete the full lifecycle development process. He utilizes SQL scripts and Excel to validate data between servers and works with clients to understand business requirements and create POCs by extracting, cleaning, and visualizing data in Excel and Power BI. Nishit has also extracted SharePoint user activity data from the server to create an analytical view on Power BI of the department and its usage. He has generated dashboards on Power BI tracking various KPIs as per clients' needs. Prior to his current role, Nishit worked as an Analyst at Barclays, where he developed a server health check reporting tool in Jenkins OSS with the help of shell scripting, resulting in increased productivity by 20%. He reduced multiple data sources by consolidating them to a few using SQL queries, resulting in performance improvements by 10%. Nishit also understood data from 120 source systems and sent it for ETL processing while working on automating the systems for Data Privacy and Data Governance tasks. Nishit's education history includes a Bachelor of Technology in I from VJTI and an HSC from K J Somaiya College of Science & Commerce Vidyanagar Vidyavihar Mumbai 400 077. He is expected to complete his Master of Science in Information Science/Studies from the University of Maryland in December 2022. Nishit's tech stack includes SQL, ETL, and Jenkins.
