Om Vikram Thapa is an accomplished Director of Engineering at GO-MMT, with over 16 years of experience in the software industry. He is an Assistant Coach at BBFS and has worked as an SDM at Amazon and an EM at redBus. He defines himself with Ecube, which stands for being Energetic, Enthusiastic and Efficient enough to solve day-to-day real-time problems related to technology and processes involved in the software industry. Currently working as an Associate Director at goibibo, Om is responsible for taking care of the B2B application for Hoteliers (in.goibibo.com) with a team of backend, frontend, QA and mobile developers. He oversees this centralised system that is responsible for pushing static and dynamic content to Goibibo, MakeMyTrip and redBus for hotels. His expertise in Python, MySQL, Kafka and AWS has been instrumental in the success of this project. Om has also worked at Amazon, where he joined the Payment Platform team as L6 Manager. He was responsible for taking care of Post Settlement, Ledger and Batch processing of Refunds of Global Payments. During his tenure, he promoted 3 L4 SDEs to L5 positions. At redBus, he worked as a Senior Engineering Manager and was responsible for engineering the #1 online bus booking site www.redbus.in. He set up processes to resolve the release cycle for launching new features, internationalisation of redBus, and built Web, Payment and SEO platforms. He also provided the best customer service for online bus booking travellers across INDIA, SEA and LATAM. His expertise in Javascript, .NET, NodesJS, MySQL, Redis, Arango DB and AWS was key to the success of these projects. Om holds a Bachelor of Technology (BTech) in Computer Science and Engineering from Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University and completed his Pre-University education in Mathematics and Computer Science from Kendriya Vidyalaya. His technical expertise includes Senior Software Engineer, AWS, MySQL, QA, Kafka, Mobile, Frontend, Backend, Software Engineer, Python, Java, Redis, Javascript, and Web.
