Prasoon Kumar is a seasoned Software Architect with over two decades of experience in various technologies and domains. He leads the oil & gas OSDU practice, an open-source data and AI platform that democratizes data and creates a basis for leveraging AI, ML, and collaboration across the ecosystem. Prasoon's role involves defining a new microservices-based architecture strategy for cloud-first data-centric solutions, developing technologies to address cross-cutting concerns for security, data, and openness, and introducing new development practices based on the Principles of Lean Enterprise and DevOps. Prasoon has extensive experience consulting startups, mid-market, and large enterprises, accelerating Cloud, data, and AI adoption. He has also actively consulted on Data platform, NoSQL, Data Lakes, Data Mesh, AWS, and Azure on Solution Architecture, Analytics & Digital Transformations. Prasoon has worked on building a data platform to democratize data and machine learning at enterprise scale, building BI infrastructure to support the needs of several functions, including marketing, product, category, business finance, and driving long-term vision and strategy for data platform capabilities, data science, and AI/ML platforms to optimize various business functions. Prasoon has worked with several companies in the past, including Visa and Capillary, where he held the positions of Lead System Architect and Engineering Manager, respectively. Prasoon holds a B.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, and a Higher Secondary degree in Science with Computer from Delhi Public School, Bokaro Steel City.
